Sean is the Executive Director of the Blockchain Ecosystem of BC Society, and the Director for Research Facilitation and Operations with the Blockchain@UBC research and education cluster.
With a background in Identity Management, Sean has 17-years of international experience at all levels of project and technical management, working with various global organizations across 31 countries. The author of a highly regarded reference manual on document and identity fraud, Sean has presented at international conferences in Haiti, Kenya, Jordan, Niger, Scotland, South Africa, and Tanzania.
Sean has worked in a broad range of other sectors including Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Anti-Corruption, Migration Management, Intelligence Analysis, and Stakeholder Engagement.
Sang is the Talent & Partnerships Advisor with the Blockchain Ecosystem of BC Society, and a Director, Major Accounts with the Business Development team at Mitacs — a national non-profit inspiring industry-academia collaboration to foster innovation and industry opportunities for grad students and post-docs in Canada.
Before joining Mitacs, Sang spent 10+ years in leadership and strategic R&D roles at a number of local SMEs and start-ups such as Vidigami Media, Bardel Entertainment and Credo Interactive (university spin-off).
Her background also includes over five years as a research associate and manager at Simon Fraser University with projects in computer animation, interactive media, AI, arts & tech, and tools for online education.
