Andrew Csinger

Andrew Csinger provides strategic technology and management consulting services, sitting on the advisory or governance boards of several high technology firms including Tanka Technologies and Blockchain Intelligence Group. He was Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of British Columbia, and Adjunct Professor in the Cognitive Systems Group. He is a graduate of the INSEAD International Corporate Governance Program (INSEAD IDP-C 2017) and is a Certified Bitcoin Professional (1df800).

Andrew was EVP and Managing Director at MineSense Technologies, and Director of A2B Fiber - a pioneer in participatory communications networks.  He was on the Board of Advisors of ISSNet, an NSERC funded research network focused on computer and network security and is a member of the Mitacs Research Council. Dr. Csinger holds several patents in internet security, biometrics, and related areas.

Andrew received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. Degrees in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University.  He was a visiting scholar at the German Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Saarbrücken and a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Post-Doctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University.



Chris Lennon

After spending a little over a decade with a prominent law firm in Vancouver, primarily advising technology companies, research organizations, and corporate boards, Chris joined Empowered Startups President and General Counsel.  Empowered Startups is a Vancouver based technology incubator with a focus on building early stage, rapidly scalable businesses. Separate and apart from his role with Empowered, Chris continues to advise technology companies, non-profits, and other organizations through his role with Lennon Allen Legal.



Manie EagAr

Manie Eagar is a Founder and CEO of the consultancy DigitalFutures B.U.I.L.D (Blockchain User-centric Innovation & Leadership Development), Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Canada, and  Founder of the BC Blockchain Forum.

He co-authored the first ever Blockchain & Fintech Study in Canada: Blockchain and Emerging Financial Technologies: Positioning British Columbia as a Global FinTech Hub;  and was a contributing author to the first ever crowdsourced FintechBook – an Amazon bestseller.

Manie is involved in several public/private sector collaborations to build awareness and advance business understanding of converging technologies such as Digital Identity Management, Crypto Currencies, Blockchain, Initial Coin Offerings, Mobile Communications, FinTech, AI, RoboAdvisers, Cybersecurity, IoT, Machine-to-Machine Learning, Big Data and Predictive Analytics.



Tejinder (TEJ) Basi

Tejinder's career has spanned a period of over 25 years, in Europe and North America, focusing on the areas of information, technology and business risk management across a variety of industries, including government and financial services.

Tejinder is a graduate of the University of Warwick (UK) in Computer Systems Engineering (BSc Hons). His professional qualifications include: CMA, CMC, CISSP, CIPP, CISM, CISA. He is also an adjunct professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business.

Tejinder is currently the Director of Strategy and Corporate Development for the Blockchain Intelligence Group; and previous to this he was a Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP in Vancouver, BC for over 15 years, where he led the Business and Information Technology Risk Services practice. 



Vicki lemieux

Dr. Victoria Lemieux is Sauder School of Business Distinguished Research Scholar, Associate Professor of Archival Science at the University of British Columbia, and founder and lead of the Blockchain@UBC research and education cluster. 

She has held senior positions as a professional archivist and records manager within the public sector, as a Vice-President responsible for information governance and IT Security for a global investment bank, in higher education as a senior administrator and educator, and at the World Bank as a Senior Public Sector Specialist.

Vicki holds a doctorate from University College London (Archival Studies, 2002), and, since 2005, has been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She is also the winner of the 2015 Emmett Leahy Award for outstanding contributions to the field of records management, a 2015 World Bank Big Data Innovation Award, and a 2016 Emerald Literati Award for her research on blockchain technology.

Sean Burke

Sean is the Director for Research Facilitation and Operations with the Blockchain@UBC research and education cluster, and volunteer Executive Director of the Blockchain Ecosystem of BC Society. 

Sean's background is primarily in Identity Management, with over 17-years of international experience at all levels of project and technical management, working with various global organizations in over 30 countries on numerous projects throughout Africa and Asia.

He has also worked in a broad range of other sectors including Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Anti-Corruption, Intelligence Analysis, and Stakeholder Engagement. He is the author of a highly regarded reference manual on document and identity fraud, published in over a dozen languages; and has presented at international conferences in Haiti, Kenya, Jordan, Niger, Scotland, South Africa, and Tanzania.
